Why the Care Sector Needs a New Media Platform

With just one month to go until the launch of The Daily Round on 15th June 2026, Hudson Publishing Company has shared more about the vision behind its new healthcare media platform — and why the care sector deserves a stronger voice.

For years, much of the media coverage surrounding healthcare and social care has focused on crisis headlines, staffing shortages, funding pressures, and negative statistics. While these challenges are very real, the team behind The Daily Round believes the sector also deserves a platform that highlights innovation, celebrates frontline professionals, shares practical support, and creates meaningful industry conversations.

According to the creators of the platform, The Daily Round is being built to bridge the gap between news, opportunity, education, and community.

Jill Newey said:

“Care is one of the most important industries in the world, yet many professionals within the sector still feel unheard, unsupported, and disconnected from one another. We wanted to create a platform that feels informative, practical, uplifting, and human.”

The new platform will provide a mixture of daily news coverage, policy updates, business insights, frontline stories, downloadable resources, career opportunities, podcasts, and sector recognition initiatives.

Hudson Publishing Company says the publication will place a strong emphasis on practical value, ensuring readers are not simply consuming news, but also gaining access to tools and opportunities that help them grow professionally and personally.

The platform is also expected to shine a spotlight on the people behind care services — from Registered Managers and business owners to frontline carers, unpaid carers, nurses, support workers, and sector innovators.

Despite representing one of the largest workforces globally, the care industry often lacks a central media destination that combines news, education, recognition, wellbeing, and professional opportunity in one place. The Daily Round hopes to change that.

Women, in particular, continue to form the backbone of the sector. In the UK adult social care workforce, approximately 82% of paid care roles are carried out by women, while unpaid caring responsibilities also disproportionately fall on women across households and families worldwide. From professional carers to mothers, daughters, partners, and family caregivers, millions of women quietly hold together the foundations of care every single day. Hudson Publishing Company says recognising and supporting those individuals will remain central to The Daily Round’s mission.

As the countdown to launch continues, the company has confirmed that further previews, partnerships, feature announcements, and contributor opportunities will be revealed over the coming weeks.

The Daily Round officially launches on 15th June 2026.
