Celebrating the Women Behind Care

As the countdown to the launch of The Daily Round continues, Hudson Publishing Company has announced that one of the platform’s core missions will be to celebrate and support the women who form the backbone of the care sector.

Launching officially on 14th June 2026, The Daily Round is being positioned as more than just a healthcare news platform. According to the company, it is being built as a community-driven media space that recognises the people behind the industry — particularly the millions of women carrying both professional and personal caring responsibilities every single day.

Across the UK adult social care workforce, women account for approximately 82% of paid care roles. Beyond the workforce itself, women also undertake the majority of unpaid caring responsibilities within families and communities, often balancing careers, childcare, emotional labour, and caregiving simultaneously.

For the team behind The Daily Round, those statistics represent more than numbers — they represent stories, resilience, sacrifice, and leadership that deserve greater visibility.

Jill Newey said:

“Women are holding together huge parts of the care sector, often quietly and without recognition. From frontline carers and nurses to mothers, daughters, Registered Managers, and unpaid family carers, there are millions of women giving their energy to caring for others every single day. We wanted The Daily Round to become a platform that recognises that contribution and creates space for those voices to be heard.”

The publication plans to feature:

  • Frontline stories from those working within care
  • Leadership interviews
  • Wellbeing and resilience content
  • Career development resources
  • Features spotlighting innovation and impact
  • Stories from unpaid carers and families
  • Conversations around balancing care, business, motherhood, and personal identity

Hudson Publishing Company says the platform will also focus on building positive and empowering narratives around the sector, helping to highlight not only the challenges within healthcare and social care, but also the compassion, leadership, and humanity that exists throughout it.

The company believes the care industry deserves a media platform that reflects the emotional reality of the profession — not just the headlines surrounding funding pressures and workforce shortages.

As part of the wider launch campaign, The Daily Round will continue releasing preview stories and feature announcements in the lead-up to its official launch next month.

The Daily Round officially launches on 14th June 2026.
